Pudina thogayal or mint thogayal.
This recipe is easy to prepare by using mint leaves, urad dal and Red chilli.
Thogayal means all the ingredients should be coarsely grinded instead of making a fine paste. Mint leaves have various health properties and it gives a unique flavour to this dish. Mint leaves enhance for easy digestion, this thogayal can be prepared for lunch or dinner.
Mint thogayal can be easily prepared within 15 minutes and can be served along with hot steamed rice, idly, dosa and chapati.
Ingredients for making thogayal
Mint leaves or pudina - 1 cup
Urad dal - 1 cup
Red chilli - 4 nos
Tamarind - small piece
Salt and oil
How to make this recipe
- Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan. Add urad dal and fry them until light brown. Then add red chillies, tamarind.
- Finally, add mint leaves and saute them for about 5 minutes. Add salt to taste
- Allow them to cool and grind them coarsely to make this pudina thogayal.
